I’m so disappointed. The author is actually a good writer and for the most part I liked the heroine... except for her putting up with guys’ crap - her brothers and Dad and Stud.But Stud continues to have sex with skanks after meeting Eva. She catches him getting blown repeatedly by these girls. All I can think with this type of male lead is “STDs.â€I’m not a fan of supposed romance books that feature a male or female lead who sleeps around after spending a lot of time with the person their supposed to end up with. Even at the 50% mark I wasn’t feeling the chemistry. Apparently he wasn’t either since he kept hooking up. Such a shame. The book has potential. I’m guessing those who ranked it higher are okay with this sort of thing, but I’m not. There’s enough reality out there. I don’t need it in my books.
This story is more of a 3.5 rating for me. It's close to 4 stars, but something just didn't quite make it there for me.He burst into laughter, head back and mouth open. Mission accomplished. I smiled at him, finally relaxing. He tagged me at the back of my neck, pulled me in and kissed me lightly. "Love you, Cactus." he said, before grabbing the biggest fork and digging up a massive scoop of chicken salad.Oh my gosh, I wasn't sure I could handle Stud's story. Definitely the definition of "manwhore," Stud was everything a hot MC member is known to be, until ... he isn't. Betsey obviously loves Stud, so that gives him some hope for substance, but it wasn't until I truly got into this story that I realized I think I may love Stud.There's a lot about Stud that he doesn't share, and much of this is what pushes him to be the way he is-uncommitted. Now, his reasons are justified, but his continued actions are not. In fact, at the beginning I felt like he was using Eva just to have someone to escape to so he didn't have to own up to all the floozies following him around.Eva is a character I totally looked up to. She worked hard, daily, and was so creative, confident, and talented. I definitely hated how her family treated her, though. She had to hide anything remotely "girly" about herself and they made her feel ashamed if she couldn't do things the same way or held other interested. If those Dragon Runner men didn't get her family, I was about to!I found this story had a little more of the "it" factor it's predecessor was missing, but there were parts of the story that felt a little unfulfilled to me. Even with that, I definitely enjoyed this story and totally fell for Stud. The next book better be about Blue, though, because that poor guy need a lady to take care of him & his kiddos!
I really loved Stud and Eva's story. Though I could not give it five stars because I really wanted to witness more of Eva and her brothers towards the end and also a little more about Stud's grandmother. Also, I wanted some type of come to Jesus session between Eva, Nikki and Bambi. This would've brought everything to a complete closure for me... this was the only thing that left me hanging a little. The whole premise and plot of Stud and Eva's story was amazing. It all worked well together. It had a good storyline, it was hot, had me in stitches and even tugged at my heart. I needed one of her brothers "lines" at the end when she is having that last conversation with Stud. I really, really, really wanted to give this five stars.My first read of this author was with Mute and now Stud's story. I look forward to Blue's story next hopefully the wait will not be long and hopefully this author makes Blue's story fully rounded. I believe it's going to be interesting because he has two kids and is a deputy, his mother is the Matriarch of the Dragon Runners and his father is the leader. Table's comeback would be interesting as well with his new baby girl.Keep these coming! I love this MC Series. My favorite was, book one, Mute, but this one is really good as well. Everything you want in an MC story. The whole club of the Dragon Runners are amazing!
I really liked the first book so I decided to give this one a try but I just didn't love it. There wasn't really much going on as far as story plot. But my biggest problem was that Stud was a cheating man-whore (gross) and that is just not okay for me in a romance book. Also, the two main characters didn't even kiss until maybe 90% into the book so not much going on there either. I think this author has potential talent and a good writing style but this one just missed the mark.
We get a glimpse of Stud in book one of the series and he is a manwhore, but we get a really good look at him and why he is that way in this book. Eva is part of the family construction crew hired to rebuild the bar. Her dad and her four older brothers ride her hard and treat her like one of the guys. Stud being the financial wizard of the MC works closely with the crew. They start out as being friends because Eva doesn’t want to get caught up in his revolving door of women, but when one of his brothers shows interest in Eva all bets are off. They have this push and pull relationship neither of them wanting to give the other an inch. When Stud is summoned by his family to his grandmother’s birthday party all sh*t hits the fan and I felt so much compassion for Stud. That, right there, is why he is the way he is. Will Stud and Eva have their happily ever after?
I literally fell into this series by chance. I saw Mute on bookbub and the blurb sounded interesting. But then I started to read it and fell in love with Mute and Kat.Then there was Stud who was in book 1 and he was nice, sweet, loyal, sexy AF, and yes he was a playboy with a mystic to him. I was so happy to hear that Ms. Nystrom was doing Stud's story. He had intrigued me and this lived up to it.Eva is the only girl of 6 siblings. She grew up in man's world and proves them wrong all the time. Eva and Stud make sense and to see him with a strong, no nonsense, smart, fierce, beautiful woman is exactly what he needed.Thank you for this book and all the hard work u put into this series. Can't wait to read Blue's story and maybe Table's down the road.
