I thought that I couldn't like a couple better than Brisbane and Malcolm, but Joseph and Dusty blew that out of the water. Dusty was such a joy to read about as he struggled to find his place in Morningwood. He made singe mistakes, but the whole community came together to show why their town is as special as it is.I loved that Joseph wasn't perfect, as the older mate in this story, and that he also had to face his insecurities and fears to be able to claim his mate.
I absolutely love this series! A town full of nothing but shifters, all different types of shifters. Genius! And I love the Alpha/Omegaverse. Each new book is better than the last and I am always so excited to see who will be mated next!
Love the Sheriff and the "bad boy" Dusty. Enjoyed reading the book and was glad when Cam disappeared from the picture.
I wrote out this whole thing about how cool it was to bring things back to Morningwood since book three started off outside town, and it got deleted. So I'm gonna say this was a meh, okay story and say that while Dusty trying to figure himself out out every wrong way possible is totally relatable, trying to snag Sheriff Joseph, just didn't work for me.What details behind Cam and his family don't really work either but as a one dimensional dudebro, Cam himself served his nefarious purpose.It was just okay, I like that things general have moved forward for the town itself, but for Dudty and Joseph, I feel like they are just going to settle into a mediocre life after this. I'm kind of sad for that since they are part of the core side characters for this series.
Even though this can be read as a stand-alone, its best enjoyed after reading the previous books in the series. When Dusty realizes his pranks have led him to the man that just might be his mate, he is prepared to explore and find his true self. The stuffy and stern sheriff gets to express his softer side as well when it comes to Dusty. This plot was a bit on the sweeter side with angst, a trouble causer that was dealt with fairly quickly and had a great encompassing of all the previous characters. The epilogues were a good way of easing them into a good place together. A cute read. I voluntarily received an arc of this book.
At last we find out what happens with Dusty and to see him get his HEA is just fine. I enjoyed the struggle and Dusty and Joseph endured to get to their HEA but I think they needed a little more personal growth to make this one just right. Dusty had his moment and it was authentic but I would have liked to see what Joseph went through rather than from hearsay. Sack of Gold is good addiction to the Morningwood universe, I hope there's more to come.
I have read a few of this author's stories and find that I like the stories but not the way they are written. There is often a sentences or paragraphs are written that make not so much sense to me. This is the second book in this series that I have read and I know I won't be reading the rest of them.
I tried but there was nothing I like about this story. It was just too juvenile n lying in any form... NO! There is do many areas of it that I fast forward through, i finally gave up at page 88.
